Pfizer Enterprise Approvals

Enterprise Approvals (EA) was a Pfizer project to consolidate a series of separate internal approvals systems into a “one stop approval system.” I was hired to write the end user’s guide, but that ended up being the least of my duties:

  • User Interface: Produced UI mockups in Photoshop for programmers to work off of, and worked with them to ensure the UI they were working on matched the Pfizer UI specifications as closely as possible (tough sometimes because the UI specs were made in Photoshop, and as you know, sometimes what you see in Photoshop is not what you can get out of web code!)
  • QA: Performed functional and UI QA on each application (5 total) as they were produced
  • Usability: Made suggestions to improve the UI once we had full knowledge of the types of data going into the application. Helped develop the EA Mobile application (for BlackBerry).
  • Usability testing: Created both functional testing and User Acceptance Testing Questions
  • Data collection/modeling: Compiled a data document to match up the data fields from the existing application’s XSD and WSDL files to the proposed UI fields to make the programmer’s work easier.

Band Owl

Band Owl was a prototype music site that would simply show visitors what music shows were going on in the near future in their area. The idea was to be able to “scrape” data from other music sites to use as some of the input. Ultimately that wasn’t possible.

I helped the creators spec out the site purpose, and drew up simple prototypes for the “desktop” and iPhone interfaces. This was a project whipped up in a few days in preparation for them meeting with some programmers so it’s pretty informal.
